Prabowo admitted, Aceh became an inseparable part of his life because his father Prof. Dr. Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, University of Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh. "Every week my father flew to Aceh to teach and every time he returned home, he always told stories about Aceh, including the character of the Acehnese who were very good.

 Because my father was considered an Acehnese child by parents in Aceh, so the story continued to stick to me and every time I went to Aceh, I always felt that I was part of the people in Aceh, "explained Prabowo. In addition, Prabowo Subianto also reminded the many services of the Acehnese people in fighting for the state of the Republic of Indonesia.

Before attending the 14th anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami with fishermen and fish traders in Lampulo TPI, Prabowo Subianto and his entourage also made a pilgrimage to the mass graves of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Siron, Lambaro, Aceh Besar. Accompanied by the Chairman of the Winning Team Muzakir Manaf, Prabowo also held a meeting with the ulama and his winning team in Aceh.
